Improper Walk!Stacy, I wanted to share with you the amazing results that we have noticed after your lesson with us.  As you know we were having a problem with a constant barker with house guest and aggressive behavior from Lilly. Lilly was attacking my other dogs, chasing the cats, and in general ruling the household. You came to our home and talked about dog needs, their behavior as pack animals and how sensitive they are to energy projected within the pack and with us, as humans. You emphasized the importance of establishing us as pack leaders and that once recognized as pack leaders the other dogs would calm down and be happy to follow our lead. I was hopeful, but had my doubts. You showed us proper walking and techniques to get the dog’s attention so that they would look to us for instructions. After the one lesson, we were so surprised at the differences we noticed with our dogs. Our barker wasn’t barking at people that came to our house, the others were calmer and relaxed, especially Lilly. For the first time, all of the dogs ate together without fighting, and my cats were not being chased by Lilly. As we practiced our “leader of the pack” role more positive changes were noticed with how our dogs behaved. Thanks to you, our family “pack” is working now in an environment of togetherness and more importantly, in peace.

Thank you so much, Anita

Maggie

Leader of the PackWe called on Stacy "The Mutt Man" when our Maggie was two years old. Although we knew she was extremely smart, she didn’t listen to us. She pretty much ran the household. When Stacy told us he could have her "heeling" by the time we reached the end of the road we laughed. All Maggie knew was her freedom on a long leash and never once heeled for us. Well, he was wrong. He had her heeling half way to the end of the road and she has been doing so ever since. His training was not of Maggie, but of us. He taught us the importance of letting her know that we, not she was in charge and he did it in a loving caring way. We highly recommend to anyone who is having a problem of "who is in charge" to call on Stacy and he will help you set that matter straight. Our home is a much nicer place to live.

Sincerely,
Dave, Linda, and Maggie

 Walking a Pack!Hello, Stacy!

You were here for only 2 hours yesterday morning and something has happened that is incredible! In the last 24 hours, I have received 7 compliments from neighbors on what a well-behaved dog my almost 4-year old Keeshond, Romeo, is. This is the same dog that struck terror in the neighbors' hearts with his barking and lunging at every person and dog he saw on every walk. Before your visit, his walks were getting shorter and shorter because I dreaded them. I would pray that no one would come out of their house or walk by. Yesterday afternoon the UPS man stopped by. Rather than barking for 15 minutes and lunging at the door, Romeo barked once and stopped when we told him to.

Last night, I walked Romeo through every street in the neighborhood (about 45 minutes) for the first time ever. We passed at least 10 people, 4 dogs, 2 couples in golf carts, and 2 Sandhill cranes. Not a peep out of Romeo! Another couple on a golf cart stopped to talk with me - the husband reached down and petted Romeo several times (no reaction from Romeo, other than to lie down!) While he was lying down in the street, a man came out of a house a few doors away with a small, yappy white dog - Romeo just stayed where he was and didn't make a sound! Romeo never used to bark at the cranes, but the cranes always started squawking and would chase us this time they just looked at us and went back to what they were doing.

This morning, Romeo got another 45 minute walk and got to see areas he has never seen. We saw several dogs, 2 separate groups of construction workers, quite a few people and Romeo didn't bark even once. Walking Romeo is now a pleasure for both of us. He is more relaxed and so am I. Both of us are getting more exercise and it's enjoyable!

Over the past 3 years, we have spent thousands of dollars on other dog trainers and Romeo always did well with the trainers. But he didn't do well for us. He was fine alone with us, but was uncontrollable when other people were around. It turns out we didn't have a bad dog; our dog had parents who didn't speak his language. You taught us how to communicate with him in the language he understands and the difference this has made is absolutely remarkable. I am amazed at how quickly he responds when I communicate in his language. I cannot thank you enough - you've made us love our dog even more! And other people love him too now!

Adopt A Pet at Your Local Rescue Shelter!  Well an update for all of you.  As you know we are the home to 5, now 6 rescue dogs of various breeds.  In addition, our activities with rescue usually have one to three fosters here at any given time!  Traveling with this many dogs presents some challenges, so as a birthday gift this year; Nick got me a session with Stacy Moore, The Mutt Man. It is the best gift I have ever gotten.  Stacy came and spent 4 or 5 hours with me and the dogs and showed ME how to be the pack leader.  The man is fantastic.  First of all, all my dogs listened to him within 5 minutes, including Ms M!  Then Stacy showed me how to do it, how to project the energy and the intent and get your dogs to listen and do what you want them to.  Trust me I have to work with them frequently (daily for now) to reinforce it but it DEFINITELY WORKS.  As many of you who have visited recently have seen proof of.  When we returned from up north we ended up with a foster who was NOT likely to be adopted so he became number 6.  This new baby also presented some challenged Stacy back.  It was incredibly helpful because the majority of these sessions were Stacy observing me handling the dogs and giving me insight into the areas I had to correct and improve upon.

We do our sessions once or twice a day about 5 days a week, short 10 or 15 minutes at a time.  I have neighbor kids come over and knock on the door so I can control the pack before guests enter.  It's all about the energy!  IT WORKS! Recently we got 3 new fosters in a single day.  Upon arrival after I said hello (probably could have skipped the little intro, but you all know me), I took them one at a time for a little session, before I introduced them to the rest of the group.  All went great and I work with them each day as well.  I will have to show the adoptive parents some of the tips so it can continue in their new homes.  What a wonderful way to have your dogs be a pleasant experience for everyone.  I can have company now without them being jumped on and barked at and as you know here that is essential because we have so much company.  All of my guests have commented on how good the dogs are and it makes me happy and proud.  I am starting to work with them in 2's and 3's now.  It is going well.  Not sure I will ever walk all 6 at one time but Stacy assures me I can.  He does it but I haven't been able to talk him into moving in yet!  So I keep working on doing it myself.  Sometime before Christmas, I intend to have him back again.  As a refresher course for me and since I am probably going to keep yet another foster.  At 6 pounds, I am working on convincing Nick he does NOT count as another dog, maybe a half! After that I suspect I will have Stacy back once a year to reinforce what I do, make the corrections I need to make and go on.  It is a much happier household and I want to keep it that way.

To all of you who have dogs in your lives, even if things are going great, I suspect Stacy can give you a bit more control and a few tricks to make you and your dogs much happier.  Call me I will be glad to put you in touch.  He is an amazing man who is gentle, yet firm and projects the type of energy dogs respond to immediately.  My dogs do great; it is me that needs to remember what he has taught me.  When I do it his way, it works, when I ask, it gets a bit sloppy but I am getting there.  Nick says Stacy did an excellent job training me and I am getting quite good at getting results!  Come visit and see for yourself.

The NEW Leader of the Pack, Judi
